The Magic Product for Various Skin Problems

Sunscreen

Looking for a product that would prevent sagging, wrinkles and unwanted skin spots? According to recent studies, that magic product actually exists and it has been under women’s noses all along. It was identified last year as sunscreen. This is according to the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery journal. One dermatologist compared the preventive effects of over the counter ingredients such as antioxidants, hyaluronic acid in night creams and skin-lightening hydroquinone serums. The results showed that sunscreen is actually the most biologically active anti-aging ingredient in skin-care. Nonetheless, most people may shy away from using sunscreen because it is stereotyped as oily and too fragrant. Despite of deflecting harmful UV rays, the sunscreen is often viewed negatively by many.

Sunscreens are made of chemical sun filters such as avobenzone or Parsol 1789 and oxynezone that soak into the skin. It absorbs the sun’s rays before its does much damage. On the other hand, there are also physical sunblocks like that of titanium dioxide or zinc oxide that stays on the surface and deflects most of the UV radiation. Many sunscreens have the combination of those ingredients and they work well with antioxidants. This will prevent free-radical damage, which is often caused by the sunrays that penetrate the skin. Therefore, it is by far one of the best makeup products these days. Based on the statement of the Los Angeles based dermatologist Jessica Wu, antioxidants prevents the damages on the skin cells as well as the breakdown of collagen. Coffee and sunblocks are great combination for skin protection. This peculiar combo works pretty well since the caffeine in coffee, which most people drink forces the damaged cells to destruct and leaves healthy cells. This information came from a research at the Journal of Investigative Dermatology.

A single application of sunscreen is not enough. It should be done repetitively to ensure that the skin is well coated with the product. For those who love to swim, one bad news is that some sunscreen products do not work well with water. It is then best to look for products like that of Johnson & Johnson’s Aveeno Hydrosport sunblock spray, which reverses the process and uses water to bind the product into the skin.

Tanning Craze Goes Insane: Dermatologists Identifies Tanning as Surefire Cause of Skin Cancer

The tanning craze has gone insane – literally. According to studies, the melanoma rates across the globe are currently increasing, this is all thanks to tanning. Among Americans, the incidence has doubled for the past 30 years especially for women aged 15 to 39 which is referred to by experts as an abrupt change.

Moreover, celebrities were often blamed because of the hype. Some of them include Kim Kardashian, Snooki and Lindsay Lohan. However, others state that the mother of tanning was actually Coco Chanel. According to the fashion legend, she got her tan while traveling to Riviera. The fans, thinking that her look was chic had decided to tan themselves to imitate the look. Chanel would have never guessed that after some years, the effect on women would be horrifying. It is like creating tanned female zombies or female tanning addicts. According to the Elle magazine’s website, much of this tanning craze is attributed to willful stupidity. Trends like these were deadly. Based on the American Academy of Dermatology, a citizen dies from it every hour. Melanoma was also linked to the ultraviolet (UV) exposure from the sun or from indoor tanning. Doctor David Fisher, the current chairman of the Department of Dermatology at the Massachusetts General Hospital states that they knew few causes of cancers but the most humiliating is that the incidences of melanoma are rapidly rising unlike any other cancer forms.

People despite learning that tanning is bad for the skin seem to just shrug the news off. As stated on a fashion news magazine, the American Academy of Dermatology has learned that 81 percent of women aged 14 to 22 years old had used indoor tanning much to frequently in the previous year. This raises these women’s chances of getting melanoma by 75 percent. UV light from these indoor tanning beds is classified as carcinogenic and the World Health Organization recommended the banning of such beds. Women should be vigilant in choosing the trends to follow and what they should dispose. This tanning craze will surely claim more lives. Not to mention is causes premature aging since the skin abhors too much UV rays.

Things You Should Know About Your Eyeliner

The eyeliner is one of the top beauty products to date. Every girl should have a trusty eyeliner to trot along in any occasion due to its handy and flexible use. Not to mention it definitely defines the eye in mere seconds. Most women consider the use of such product as a daily routine. Its function is to widen or narrow down the appearance of the eyes through the clever use of an eyeliner pencil, powder, gel or in its liquid form.

Most makeup artists consider the liquid eyeliner as a timeless tool for beauty. In buying liquid eyeliners, girls are advised to choose a brand, which promises immunity against chips and smears. Those characteristics are lifesavers against common enemies such as sweating, crying or swimming. The basic application of the liquid is to start at the upper lash line in thin strokes. The strokes must come from the inner to the outer corners of the eye. The resulting line is usually flawless. The basic eyeliner color is of course black. However, as time changed so does the products hues. Many women now have the option to choose from the more conservative brown up to the daring pink or red. Many celebrities such as Zooey Deschanel were seen wearing colors that are more provocative. In Descahnel’s case, the color was a “hot pink” during the She and Him’s campaign for the music video, entitled as “Don’t Look Back”. She did pull it off, but others may not have the face and the confidence to wear this blaring color.

Most people may already know that the usage of this product dates back from ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia. Formerly, the trend was to put a dark black line around the eyes. Researchers consider that eyeliners back then were used as protection against evil spirits. However, this was changed in the 1920’s after the Western world adapted the use of cosmetics. Women back then became more liberal and there were a lot of changes in the fashion industry. The evolution of the eyeliner continues up to this day wherein it was used by both men and women. Eyeliners became more prominent as it was associated with the Gothic and Punk fashion.
